徐海，1969年生于北京。1992年毕业于中央美术学院国画系本科。2010年获美术学博士学位（导师王镛教授）。现为中央美术学院中国画学院副教授，硕士研究生导师，书法系主任。中国民主促进会会员、中国书法家协会会员、中国美术家协会会员、北京印社副秘书长。
书法作品获第五届全国书法篆刻展“全国奖”、第七届全国中青年书法篆刻展“二等奖”、第八届全国中青年书法篆刻展“一等奖”、中国画作品获第十届全国美展“优秀奖”、篆刻作品参加首届、二、三、四、五届全国篆刻作品展、首届、二、三届流行书风流行印风大展，入选教育部2011年度“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”，有多部书法、篆刻集出版。出版：《当代青年篆刻家精选集·徐海卷》
Xu, Born in Beijing in 1955, graduated from the painting department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts(CAFA) in 1992.He obtained his doctor's degree in art (He followed Yong Wang as his doctoral adviser). At present, he is honored as an associate professor of Chinese Painting Faculty in CAFA and as a postgraduate tutor, dean of Calligraphy Department, member of China Association for Promoting Democracy, member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of Chinese Artists Association, deputy secretary-general of Beijing Seal Society., 
With his calligraphy works, Xu has won the ''National Award'' prize in the Fifth National Calligraphy Exhibition, the ''Second Prize'' in the Seventh National Youth Calligraphy &Seal Cutting Exhibition. And, his Chinese paintings has won him "Excellence Award" in the tenth National Art Exhibition. His carving works shown at the first、 second、 third、 fourth and fifth National carving exhibition  as well as the first 、second and third popular book style popular Indian style exhibition. His carving works were selected into "New Century Excellent Talents Award Program" conducted by Ministry of Education of China in 2011.Moreover,a number of his calligraphy sets as well as seal carving sets were published, such as "Contemporary Youth carving Collection.
